• Melanie: Main Moggie

Melanie, owner and printer at Grey Moggie Press, started letterpress printing in 2008 when she needed a creative outlet from the rigors of law school. Within a year, she was teaching others to use and care for her favorite press, the Chandler & Price Pilot, at a local art center. Melanie set out to learn all she could about printing and presses and started selling her funny greeting cards and gift tags at local craft fairs. In early 2012, she left a day job to spend her days with her daughter, her evenings in the studio, and her weekends sharing her letterpress goodies at Eastern Market in DC. Charging forward in 2013, Grey Moggie welcomed a Chandler & Price 10x15 hand-fed press into the carriage house studio on Capitol Hill and exhibited at the National Stationery Show in New York. In 2014, we hope to offer classes in our Capitol Hill studio and we're hard at work on a wedding line to be released in early 2015.
  • Lisa: Studio Moggie

Lisa is an order-packing wizard. When she's not at the Grey Moggie studio, she's writing about small businesses near and far, working in her vintage clothing shop, or cohosting the Pop Fashion podcast. Lisa is from the Philadelphia area, but has called D.C. home for almost 10 years.
  • Allison: Market Moggie

Allison is a cancer geneticist by day and art enthusiast all the time. She loves writing, especially when she has the right paper and pen! Allison is a neighborhood wanderer always in search of the next best espresso haunt or growing her collection of scarves. You can usually find her up all night in the lab, rocking out at 930 Club, or at the local cinema.
  • Julia: Market Moggie

Julia is a Seattle native and recent arrival to Washington, D.C. A Capitol Hill staffer with a love of all things both sassy and whimsical, she spends her weekdays unleashing her inner Selina Meyer and her weekends exploring with a latte in hand. She is a graduate of Colgate University, where she studied history and fell in love with the autumns of Upstate New York. Her past adventures lead her to residences in both San Francisco and Dublin, Ireland, but she is happiest living in one Washington or the other.
  • Stephanie: Market Moggie

Stephanie originally hails from Cleveland, Ohio and has been in the DC area since 2009 when she moved to earn her Master's degree in Library and Information Science. Stephanie is an Archivist and so, stereotypically, loves all things books and writing. Sending cards and letters is her super-power, which she wields with great enthusiasm. You'll find her trying new restaurants on H St., strolling through museums, and rooting on the Washington Nationals.
  • Fei-fei: Market Moggie

Fei-fei relocated to DC from Indiana in 2010 for a job with the federal government. A Purdue graduate (Boiler up!) and Midwesterner at heart, she still calls carbonated beverages pop. Besides writing more on paper, her new favorite hobby is international travel. Her most recent travels took her to Greece, Italy, and Canada.
